Introduction

Invincible is a critically acclaimed and completed superhero comic book series by Robert Kirkman (main writer), Ryan Ottley (main artist), and Cory Walker (co-creator & occasional artist). It is known for its blend of a classic, bright art style with very graphic violence and mature themes.

Basic Information on The Story:

The story follows the coming-of-age journey of Mark Grayson, a normal high school student whose father is Nolan Grayson, the seemingly benevolent superhero known as Omni-Man, Earth's most powerful protector.

Mark begins to develop his own powers at age seventeen and takes on the superhero mantle "Invincible". The central turning point of this series (which has also now been adapted into an animated series on Amazon Prime Video) comes with the relevation that his father's alien race, the Viltrumites, are actually a brutal empire of conquerors, and Nolan was sent to Earth to prepare it for subjugation. Overall, this story explores Mark's struggle to forge his own moral path, dealing with themes of: Loss of innocence and the search for identity, the ethics of killing and the possibility of redemption, and the consequences of actions.

How to Collect or Watch:

The story of Invincible can be experienced in many different ways, through its multiple different variations of comic collections, and now through an animated series on Amazon Prime Video. Although, the animated series is not finished as of now, standing at three seasons with further seasons already in development. For the comics, there are numerous ways to collect this story, through its original 144 Issues, 12 Ultimate Collection Hardcovers, 3 Compendiums (available in both soft and hard copies), and 25 Trade Paperback Volumes which are now being renewed. The easiest to find and cheapest way to collect this magnificent series (and my personal way of once collecting them) is the three soft cover compendium novels.
